Even with a Master's degree, Taiwanese graduates struggle with low starting pay with some forced to look for brighter prospects in a night market stall. For a working single mother to own a piece of property, taking on 3 jobs makes barely enough to pay for hefty housing loan. And even into his seventies, an elderly part time worker struggles with high tuition and pricey private school fees to enable his teenage daughter to compete effectively.
